Jonny was born in 1994 and grew up in Leibnitz, Styria. In the early age his mother taught him to play the flute and the Diatonic Accordion, with which he explored his first musical steps. With the age of 10 he started playing the Saxophone, which will later be changed with the Drumset. Lessons at the Studio Percussion School in Graz taught him a wide range of different musical genres and percussion instruments.
After his highschool diploma he completed his civil service at the military music orchestra in Styria. Today he is studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz Jazz Drums as well as instrumental pedagogy. Offside playing drums it sometimes pulls him back to the roots, the folk music and the Accordion. With his Duos Quetsch `n´ Vibes and Tubonika he combines the Austrian folk music with other musical genres.
His musical career already brought him to Asia twice. The first time was in Vietnam, where he played at the International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang, and also to the festival Sounding Jerusalem in Israel. He played international competitions with the Austrian Brass Band in Holland and Austria. Jonny also achieved the first place at the JBO-competition 2015 with the Landesjugenblasorchester Steiermark in Linz. More concerts with the European Spirit of Youth Orchestra brought him to Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. At the Bundeswettbewerb Prima La Musica he reached the first prize with the drum ensemble „All-Stars“.
2016 he was able to record an album called „Grünes Album“ with the austrian songwriter „Nino aus Wien“. In 2017 he released the debut album of his duo „Quetsch `n´ Vibes“ – „Zwischen Zwei Welten“.
